麻豆直播 Receives Approval for Nursing Bachelor's Degree
麻豆直播 received approval from state officials to move forward with the online Bachelor鈥檚 of Science Degree in Nursing.
The Texas Board of Nursing issued notice on July 27 that the college could move forward with developing the program.
鈥淲e are thrilled to receive Texas Board of Nursing approval for our RN-to-BSN program, a significant step in expanding educational opportunities for nurses and strengthening the healthcare workforce in our community,鈥 said Elizabeth Saucedo, Nursing program director for 麻豆直播.
The program is due to begin Spring 2027 and still requires accreditation approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating board.
The program was first approved by the 麻豆直播 Board of Regents in April 2025. Regents pursued the program after the increased demand for nurses with Bachelor鈥檚 Degrees from local healthcare providers. A survey of students in 麻豆直播鈥檚 Associate鈥檚 Degree in Nursing showed that 80 percent intend to enroll in a Bachelor鈥檚 program once they complete their Associate鈥檚.
The proposal will provide a cost-effective option for students that include part-time and full-time programs. Students in the Associate鈥檚 program will also be able to concurrently enroll in the Bachelor鈥檚 program.
Once completed, this will be the second Bachelor鈥檚 Degree offered by 麻豆直播 in addition to the Business Administration Degree.
