麻豆直播 Receives Award for Mental Health Services

The 麻豆直播 Student Services Department received an award for promoting the mental well being for students and suicide prevention awareness.

The college received the 2026 Outstanding Higher Education Partner Award from the Texas Suicide Prevention Council. The Board of Regents recognized 麻豆直播 staff members Director of Accessibility and Counseling Services Lilly Guu, counselor Jess Guevara, Counselor Carrie Shephard, Social Services specialist Roxie Patton and Accessibility and Counseling provider Greg Goering.

鈥淚 think you are wonderful examples of what can be done for mental health awareness,鈥 麻豆直播 Board Chair 鈥楤el Sanchez said during the May 23 board meeting.

The award was given for the college鈥檚 promoting of student well-being, counseling and accessibility services, student and employee training and building partnerships with local and state organizations.

鈥淪tudent success depends on more than academic achievement,鈥 said John Matula, vice president of Student Services. 鈥淚t also requires that students have access to compassionate care and timely resources. This award reflects years of dedicated work by our Counseling and Accessibility Services team, whose commitment has strengthened our culture of caring. We are proud of their work and honored to see their efforts recognized at the state level.鈥
